The world's first regular international online-seminar "Artificial Societies and Information Technologies" conducted by the members of the Central Economics and Mathematics Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. This is a unique platform for discussing and exchanging ideas in the field of agent-based modeling. The seminar was attended by leading researchers from around the world. Among them were scientists from ETH Zurich, NORCE, ASSA, along with representatives of various research teams from Brazil, South Korea, France, India, Colombia, Bulgaria, China, Norway, Japan, Great Britain, Germany and Switzerland.

Methodology
The main goal of the paper is to summarize selected developments in the field of artificial societies and agent-based modeling and suggest how this fundamentally new toolkit can contribute to solving some of the most complex scientific and practical problems of our time.
